Why does Japan have merchandise and parodies in anime of american shows / movies?

is it cause they were such a great hit in america it struck world world wide and became popular "outside" USA ???. i dont know what is it ?Why does Japan have merchandise and parodies in anime of american shows / movies?1. Why shouldn't Japan sell some merchandise related to US hits as you put it? Don't they sell anime based junk in your country for the people who are into such things? So what if some stores sell more of such trivia than others? Does it prove that the foreign stuff is more popular and ought to be stocked in larger quantities in other stores? Or does it prove that it's less popular so only a few stores will bother keeping a large selection in stock, meaning that the stores with more stock attract the people who want such items, and the stores with less stock don't risk losing so much money?

2. Why shouldn't they parody famous movies in anime? They do it on the Simpsons don't they? And other US shows too? Why is Japan supposed to be immune? People in Japan do sometimes watch imported movies you know, just because English speaking countries keep such things as fringe-entertainment doesn't alter the fact that many other countries are more open to foreign movies. Just in case you hadn't noticed, the most parodied movies seem to be the Godzilla series, and that was not an American invention, in case you didn't know. I could be wrong, but I seem to recall seeing it parodied on the Simpsons and other US shows in the past too. Is that worthy of a question on YA? Why does America have parodies in animations of Japanese movies? Why does Japan have merchandise and parodies in anime of american shows / movies? It's not an average Japanese toy store. It's just one of millions of toy stores in Japan.

And it sells American products.

The bottom line is, it's only one store, not the entire Japan matter. Why does Japan have merchandise and parodies in anime of american shows / movies? For the same reason they have fish in the fish markets. It is for the purpose of nutritious consumption.
