It isn't exactly in the same category as the ones you mentioned and the whole cast isn't black but it is a very good movie. It is about the slave trade ship La Amistad and how the captured slaves were treated so badly. Then they came together to mutiny and take over the ship. When they take over the ship they sail to America where they are put in prison as run away slaves. They don't speak a word of English, and it seems like they are doomed to die for killing their captors when an abolitionist lawyer decides to take their case, arguing that they were free citizens of another country and not slaves at all. The case finally gets to the Supreme Court, where John Quincy Adams makes an impassioned and eloquent plea for their release.



Unfortunately it's a true story but a VERY good movie!!
