American brought movies?

I have found a bunch of dvd's that i want to buy online but they are from an American site, i cant find them on any Australian one that i know of, can i buy a dvd player that will play the American ones, or does anyone know any good sites to buy movies? i am looking for mainly Native American Indian movies.American brought movies?You will rarely see fat lady in that kind of film.
