Why are there so few Asian/Asian American actors in American movies or on TV?

Besides martial arts masters and nerds! Why are Asians so rarely portrayed as real, "normal" people? Why are there so few Asian/Asian American actors in American movies or on TV?I see way more recently than ever before but would you agree that it's usually chicks or lame guys? And sorry but Jackie Chan and Jet Li are not even that good looking. I've read that Americans still don't see Asian men as being strong and sexy and they still perceive Asian women as being gentle little flowers. I think things are slowly changing. Most of my friends are Asian and they are anything but martial arts experts and geishas! Hopefully with time we'll see better roles made available to Asians and these roles being offered to better actors than Lucy Liu and John Cho.Why are there so few Asian/Asian American actors in American movies or on TV?
That Asian chick in Sideways was pretty cool. And the one in the Miami Vice movie too.Why are there so few Asian/Asian American actors in American movies or on TV?as my mum always said:"holly wood is owned by jews, so convert or it's 1 in a million that you'll make it past a week."Why are there so few Asian/Asian American actors in American movies or on TV?
I think the reason that there are few asians in normal roles is because our country is very stereotypical and has only just become more open to different ethnicities. After WWII, there were a lot of people who saw the asian face as a face of evil. Nowadays, more and more asians are portraying normal characters. An example of a normal asian character is Sandrah Oh in her role as one of the doctors in Grey's Anatomy. Why are there so few Asian/Asian American actors in American movies or on TV?I think it is not because of ethnicity-really there are so few "normal" people of ANY ethinicity in movies or tv shows. Bad characterization-that's the real problem regardless of ethnicity
