Yes, they do! Although release dates may be different from the States, probably quite a bit late. There are also options between subtitled/dubbed sittings (in major cities at least).

However, going out to the cinema in Japan is pretty pricey, so I wouldn't reccomend going too often if you're keeping an eye on the pennies!



You can also often watch old (granted, usually quite cheesy) American movies on TV. Yes they do at movie theaters in malls,and on TV , I have JCOM. It's Japanese cable with phone,internet and TV cable combination. Of course you have to pay for the english channels, like the Star channels, 301,303, also 239, 246,247, 250,251,252,253, 211(cnn) and so forth. I guess the people who don't pay for cable and just get the free channels don't know what I am talking about. To bad, so sad.

Not exactly as same time as in USA but some first-runs are shown at limited theaters. It depends. Classics and popular ones as DVD are usually shown through rental video shops that are very common there.



Pirated editions are not widely distributed in Japan frankly because of much more strict public enforcement than other Asian countries.
