We always see the same old stereotype, I am wondering how close to reality is this. Are American schools anything like the movie stereotype we commonly see in movies?well there are some kids who's life could be a teenage movie. there are definitely kids like that out there
its just that people who rise above the social scenes and do their own thing are commonly overlooked...
also the movies do really hit on the loneliness alot of kids say they feel even when surrounded by "friends"Are American schools anything like the movie stereotype we commonly see in movies?
no.
in most public schools, students cannot wear belly revealing shirts or skirts more than 3 inches about the knee. most girls and guys wear blue jeans and t-shirts anyway. in most schools, there is far less division between student cliques in real life than there are in the movies. also, most students male and female don't look that hot- they are teenagers, not twenty something actors. they actually have acne. also, they don't get away with nearly as much as teenagers do in the movies. American schools in the movies and American schools in reality are almost total opposites. Are American schools anything like the movie stereotype we commonly see in movies? Some are, some aren't. There are definately some school like the movie "Mean Girls". But there are also schools were everyone gets along. At my school everyone is cool with everyone but there are the preppy kids, the jocks (of any sport), the cheerleaders etc but at the same time there are lots of preppy kids who are also jocks AND cheerleaders. Or "ghetto" kids who are also geeks and etc. At my school we can wear whatever we want as long as our boobs, butt and stomache isn't showing.
well in the movies there are 2 types of schools... all-white with preppy-looking kids or all-black schools with preppy looking kids. it is NOTHING like reality. probably half of the population in regular schools is hispanic. and their is a well balance between races. and theres only 1 group of kids that are preppy looking. lol, and also, probably about 1 kids thinks about making a difference in real schools while in the movies theres a group of kids that wants to change something (i.e segregated proms)Are American schools anything like the movie stereotype we commonly see in movies?haha i love your question. i was just talking with a lady from France who asked me if we have cheerleaders and if they are all really mean...well yes, we have a lot of the things that are in the movies, like cheerleaders. but there really isnt that huge amount of drama like you see in the movies. there are some mean cheerleaders and some really tough american football players, but for the most part, i think its really similar to your schools. we just go there to learn...nothing too interesting. it gets pretty boring and there aren't normally those set "cliques" like you see in the movies. people will have groups of friends, and some people move about to different groups. its not a huge deal like you see in the overly dramatic movies. Are American schools anything like the movie stereotype we commonly see in movies?
What is the sterotype? If you mean the students don't pay attention to the teacher %26amp; are disrespectful or violent, then yes, some are like that but most are probably in large inner cities.
Otherwise no. We have many, many schools with high standards who expect the students to actually learn.
Of course, all schools experience students with disciplinary problems but usually nothing major.
My school isnt. We have kids from 60 different countries so we are extremely different diverse. Our school is massive so there arent any popular ppl. There are also too many ppl for cliques to exist. Everyone is in with everyone...obviously there are preps and goths and the theater kids but all those kids intermingle.
and the basketball and soccer team are the most popular teams. our cheerleaders are losers. our football team stinks so nobody cares...the soccer and volleyball teams have all the hotties.
nothing like the movies
toodlesAre American schools anything like the movie stereotype we commonly see in movies?
Idk what stereotype u meen, but its not like anything ive seen in movies.I mean how girls and guys and teachers act is way off. Its also never as fun.Its pretty much the most boring way to spend your life.
Since American public schools are funded by local taxes, the more affluent the area is, the nicer the public schools tend to be. Obviously low-ncome areas have more run down schools.
