Why would an American audience be drawn to an American movie?

If the movie is made in america, has american actors, about america etc, then why would it attract an american audience more than a European/English audience?

Thanks :)Why would an American audience be drawn to an American movie?Just like programmes like Only Fools and Horses, Eastenders and Coronation Street atract a bigger British Audience than anywhere else.

We watch those programmes coz we can relate to them in some way. We all know a Les Battersby or a Ken Barlow or even a Grant Mitchell or a Frank Gallagher.

As for American Programmes, we dont particularly find them convincing so we just watch it for other entertainment.

Im sure in the US, the opposite is true. Why would an American audience be drawn to an American movie?because nobody else would careWhy would an American audience be drawn to an American movie?Having lived there I found the culture very jingoistic and self absorbed. Their understanding of other cultures is relatively limited because the don't rely on other countries for anything (barring oil). Besides they have the greatest movie industry in the world on their doorstep, why would they need to look or think outside the box?Why would an American audience be drawn to an American movie?
Because American's are more familiar with American actors than with European/English actors and vicea versa.
