It's for my US History to 1877 class. Technically, we should try to be as close to 1877 as possible, but a few years wouldn't make much of a difference.
I've already thought of the The Amistad, Glory, Last of the Mohicans, Gangs of New York and Gone With The Wind but I'm looking for some other suggestions.
We have to do a paper on something and a project and the professor thinks tying all three together would be best. My topic (for the time being) is on American literature and how it was shaped from European and Native styles (I'm focusing mostly on English/England) but formed something completely unique. Or...something like that. I'm open to changing it to something not as difficult to find a better way to tie it into a movie and the project. For the project, I'm thinking of doing something animated, like some comic strips or an animated short to be different from a Powerpoint slideshow.
