I watch a lot of "subtitled" movies and they're very good. A lot of foreign movies receive top notched ratings from the "Cannes Film Festival" so you know they're legit!

European cinema and TV sucks I think. I also find American movies much deeper than European movies, but America also has much better directors, writers and producers. That's my opinion and you have yours. I watched an episode of Paris Texas, not a fan at all. Boring.

The truth of the matter is that over here we pretty much only get the best of the best of everyone else's films. At the same time we dump nearly everything we make onto the worldwide market while pretty much keeping indie films from having a chance at even widespread appeal in the US.
If you bother to hunt for them you'll find many amazing US made indie films, documentaries, and other obscure things. Theyre at least as good as anything coming out of any other country.
Unfortunately our high budget movies-the ones that we distrubute worldwide and the ones that everyone in the US sees are tripe. Theyre over budgetted so they can use special effects in place of a good story. They trade high dollar actors for adequate characterization.
Its not that theyre movies are better, its that our gems are harder to find because they have to compete more directly with the high budget films put out by the major studios. And of course, like most other businesses here theyve realized that you dont have to make a quality product if you can just spend enough money to steal all the attention away from the superior competition.Why are European movies deeper than American ones?

American films are just as deep as your European films, you just haven't bothered to actually look.
