ive never been to america nor do i live there so im just really curious as to whether its true...
i know there is dramatisation or exaggeration but still.. is it anything like real life?Is the way that american schools are portrayed in movies, reality?not really they make it seem worse on the big screen surprisingly so if your ever moving there and your scared about the schools don't be afraid. i live in america and if i ever want to move to AU when i'm older i'm scared about there schools
first of all yes there are mean girls/ cliques but there really is no such thing as a "nerd". sure there are smart kids but no not "geeky nerds"
second of all the mean girls aren't like the ones in the movie Mean Girls there much nicer and i guess its harder to make friends with them
kids are really nice and teachers are too. most schools have a bully policy so if you get bullied online or at school physical and verbally they can take action but it usually has to be someone at your school or in the school system to take action for it.
and we have very good education. if you pay your taxes you can go to a public school. or if you pay taxes and the school you can go to privateIs the way that american schools are portrayed in movies, reality?
thanks for picking me as best answer. if you have anymore questions just leave a comment on this!

Is the way that american schools are portrayed in movies, reality?Sure, there's some truth to it, but in comparison to real life it's just as much as an unreal story as it is to you. People are not as cruel in real life as in movies. "Popular" groups exist, but I've found that they are a rarity. I've never seen it happen that there is one particular, popular girl or boy that all the other girls and boys look up to. Everyone has their friends and everyone has people they don't exactly get along with, but movies don't just exaggerate--they blow everything way out of proportion! You should come visit the US or even consider foreign exchange for a semester or two. It's great here. =)Is the way that american schools are portrayed in movies, reality?
There's always the cliqeus like popular kids, dorks, jocks, etc..
Its like that in most schools everywhere.
There's always groups and stereotypes.
Movies exagurate it though with the whole popular kids being super mean to dorks and stuff, obviously some are really mean to them but movies just exagurate it alot
no, not really. at my school at least, everyone is friends with pretty much everyone. however there are those prudes that don't want to be friends with certain people because they have certain interests.
and there are those that avoid people all together and hang out in library or somewhere secluded. Is the way that american schools are portrayed in movies, reality?
No. Its not that seperated by popularity. Although kids can be really mean to kid who ae different and weird. But kids have all different type of friends. Im in the 10th grade at a high school.
Ya, its REALLY exaggerated but its a lot like the movies. Everyone is in a group according to a stereo type and everyone pics on each other according to social status.
yep you have a bunch of different cliques and all that but the for popular people some of em are pretty decent. others are total *******. in movies it is exaggerated a lot.
It's not THAT bad, but it can be that bad at times.
There are the cliques.
There are the nasty rumors, spiteful gossip.
But, there are the good kids, you can't overlook them.
Yea, some of it's like that
I don't see many people being bitchy tho, but there are lots of cliques. I hate it ahhah why cant we all just get along?
not really. some people try to make it like the movies but its really not.
